Curriculum Overview

Chapter 1: Introducing Aerial Yoga
A quick look at aerial yoga origins and special considerations.

Chapter 2: Basic Anatomy
Self-study of anatomy that helps inform your sequencing design.

Chapter 3: Warmup And Seated Series
We start our physical practice with modified versions of traditional asanas for deeper stretches and new balancing challenges.

Chapter 4: In The Loop
We start to trust the fabric with our weight and learn to balance in fully suspended asanas.

Chapter 5: Grounded Asanas and Sun Salutation
Well-known grounded asanas modified to have one leg suspended. Critical for balance practice and getting comfortable with the silk.

Chapter 6: Lunges And Variations On Warrior
We spend more time advancing our one-legged practice while stretching our hamstrings in preparation for fully suspended asanas.

Chapter 7: Flying Asanas Part 1 - Balance
Our first set of fully suspended asanas in the hammock. Balance and body awareness are key to our success here.

Chapter 8: Flying Asanas Part 2 - Inversions
Time to leave the ground behind and see the world upside down! Inversions can be both scary and thrilling to learn.

Chapter 9: Flying Poses Part 3 - Intermediate
Building on all the skills thus far, we add variations and transitions to get the most out of our time in the silk.

Chapter 10: Hands only
In this chapter, we see how the silk helps us practice three traditional inversions. Remember to keep your fingers spread like a starfish!

Chapter 11: Open silk
A beautiful variation on using the silk where we no longer use a simple loop but open it up to sit in our cocoons.

BONUS: Six Sequences
Five short sequences to create variation in your class and one full class sequence for a restorative aerial class

BONUS: Extra Asanas and variations
